The NOTA/DOTA PET/CT Whole Body Scan is a cutting-edge nuclear imaging test specifically designed to detect and evaluate neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). By using a somatostatin receptor-binding radiotracer (NOTA-NOC or DOTA-NOC), this scan pinpoints NETs anywhere in the body with exceptional accuracy.
A radioactive tracer (68Ga-DOTA/NOTA-NOC) is injected, which binds to somatostatin receptors on NET cells.
The PET/CT scanner captures detailed 3D images, highlighting areas of abnormal tracer uptake.
Combines metabolic (PET) and anatomical (CT) imaging for precise tumor localization.
✔ High Sensitivity: Detects even small or metastatic NETs missed by conventional scans.
✔ Accurate Staging: Helps determine the extent (stage) of neuroendocrine cancer.
✔ Guides Treatment: Critical for planning surgery, peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT), or other interventions.
Fasting: At least 4 hours before the scan (only plain water allowed).
Blood Test: Recent creatinine report (within 15 days) to ensure kidney function.
Attendant Required: One companion mandatory for assistance.
Reproductive Age: Must provide last menstrual period (LMP) date or a negative urine pregnancy test (to avoid radiation exposure during pregnancy).
Blood tests can be done through home blood sample collection services that do away with the need to travel to the laboratory. Please fill up the following details for appointment. You will receive an confirmation call from centre regarding appointment details.
