NOTA/DOTA PET/CT Whole Body Scan for Neuroendocrine Tumors (NETs) in Gurugram

Includes: 1 tests

Test Remark

Test Parameters :

The NOTA/DOTA PET/CT Whole Body Scan is a cutting-edge nuclear imaging test specifically designed to detect and evaluate neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). By using a somatostatin receptor-binding radiotracer (NOTA-NOC or DOTA-NOC), this scan pinpoints NETs anywhere in the body with exceptional accuracy.

How It Works:

  • radioactive tracer (68Ga-DOTA/NOTA-NOC) is injected, which binds to somatostatin receptors on NET cells.

  • The PET/CT scanner captures detailed 3D images, highlighting areas of abnormal tracer uptake.

  • Combines metabolic (PET) and anatomical (CT) imaging for precise tumor localization.

Key Benefits:

✔ High Sensitivity: Detects even small or metastatic NETs missed by conventional scans.
✔ Accurate Staging: Helps determine the extent (stage) of neuroendocrine cancer.
✔ Guides Treatment: Critical for planning surgery, peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT), or other interventions.

Test Preparation Guidelines

For All Patients:

  • Fasting: At least 4 hours before the scan (only plain water allowed).

  • Blood Test: Recent creatinine report (within 15 days) to ensure kidney function.

  • Attendant Required: One companion mandatory for assistance.

For Female Patients:

  • Reproductive Age: Must provide last menstrual period (LMP) date or a negative urine pregnancy test (to avoid radiation exposure during pregnancy).
