The Dengue NS1 antigen (Non-structural Protein 1) test is part of the dengue profile test and is used to detect the presence of NS1 antigen in the patient's body. It is a protein produced by the dengue virus and can be detected with the NS1 Dengue test in the early stage of infection. A positive test report confirms that the patient got recently infected with dengue, likely in the last 7 days of the test. However, a negative test result does not confirm that the patient is not infected.
Dengue NS1 Antigen by ELISA helps to detect Dengue virus in blood. This tests helps to detect NS1 Antigen Protein which is produced by Dengue Virus. Non-structural glycoprotein-1 (NS1) test has proven to be a useful biomarker for early diagnosis of Dengue.
